Search for the best Korean sheet masks, and you will probably see a familiar mix of collagen masks, overnight hydrogel masks and products promising “glass skin.”
But that is not quite the same as asking what people are actually buying in Korea.
So I checked Olive Young Korea’s mask-pack sales ranking in September 2026.
The first thing that stood out was Mediheal.
Its classic Essential Mask was near the very top of the category, alongside newer mask formats from Mediheal, Biodance and other Korean brands.
But there is an important catch.
Olive Young’s Korean 마스크팩 (mask pack) category is broader than the English phrase sheet mask. It includes traditional sheet masks, toner pads, hydrogel masks, patches and other facial packs.
So simply copying the category ranking from No. 1 downward would not actually answer the question.
Instead, I separated out the products that matter if you are specifically looking for Korean face masks — and looked at what the Korean ranking really tells us.
Ranking, price and promotional data were checked in September 2026. Olive Young rankings and promotions change, so positions and prices below should be read as a snapshot rather than permanent scores. This article contains no affiliate links.
The Short Answer
If you want one straightforward recommendation, Mediheal Essential Mask is the clearest starting point for a classic Korean sheet mask.
Why?
It combines a strong position in Olive Young Korea’s current mask category with an unusually large review history. The promotional listing checked in September 2026 had accumulated more than 500,000 reviews, and Olive Young labels the product with a “15 consecutive years No. 1” claim.
If you want the newer long-wear hydrogel experience instead, Biodance Real Deep Mask is the more relevant comparison.
And if hydration is your priority, Torriden Dive-In Mask is another conventional sheet mask appearing in the Korean ranking.
The bigger story, though, is this:
Korea has not replaced traditional sheet masks with viral hydrogel masks. Both formats are selling at the same time.
What Is Actually Ranking at Olive Young Korea?
Olive Young’s Korean mask-pack ranking changes frequently, and promotional bundles can move products up or down.
In the September 2026 snapshot used for this article, products appearing prominently in the category included:
| Product | Format | What stands out |
|---|---|---|
| Mediheal Essential Mask | Sheet mask | Classic format, huge review history |
| Mediheal Hyper Gel Mask | Gel mask | Newer long-wear format |
| Biodance Real Deep Mask | Hydrogel mask | Viral internationally, also sold prominently in Korea |
| Torriden Dive-In Mask | Sheet mask | Hydration-focused conventional mask |
| Abib sheet masks | Sheet mask | Established Korean-market option |
There were also toner pads, patches and other treatments mixed into the same ranking.
That distinction matters.
A product ranking No. 3 in Olive Young’s 마스크팩 category is not necessarily the third-best-selling sheet mask in Korea, because products with different formats compete inside the same retail category.
This is also why I would not treat an Olive Young rank as a universal popularity score.
I explained the methodology in more detail in Olive Young Best Sellers: What the Korean Ranking Actually Measures.
The useful approach is to treat the ranking as evidence of what is selling at Olive Young at that moment — then look at the product format, promotion, reviews and longer-term signals separately.
1. Mediheal Essential Mask
Best for: The classic Korean sheet-mask experience
This is where I would start if someone asked me to choose a traditional Korean sheet mask based on Korean-market evidence rather than international hype.
In September 2026, Mediheal Essential Mask appeared near the top of Olive Young Korea’s mask-pack ranking.
The promotional listing offered 10 or 10+1 masks depending on the selected configuration and was listed at around ₩10,000 when checked.
That works out to roughly ₩900–₩1,000 per mask in the promotional configuration.
Individual Essential Masks were also available separately.
But the more interesting number is not the temporary sale price.
It is the review count.
The Olive Young promotional listing had accumulated more than 500,000 reviews when checked in September 2026.
A live ranking can move quickly because of discounts, bundles and retailer promotions. A review history of that size tells us something different: this is not a product that appeared suddenly because of one viral moment.
Why it matters
International K-beauty has increasingly moved toward more elaborate mask stories:
- collagen
- PDRN
- hydrogel
- wrapping masks
- overnight masks
- multi-hour masks
Mediheal Essential Mask is almost the opposite.
It is inexpensive, familiar and easy to use.
And that is exactly why it is useful for understanding the Korean market.
Not everything Koreans continue buying needs a new viral ingredient or format.
Picked in Korea verdict
Best overall if you want a conventional Korean sheet mask rather than a trend-driven mask treatment.
2. Biodance Real Deep Mask
Best for: The multi-hour hydrogel-mask experience
Biodance is an interesting case because its international visibility is enormous.
Its Real Deep Mask line has become closely associated with the long-wear Korean hydrogel-mask trend, particularly the idea of leaving a mask on for hours rather than using it like a conventional 10- or 20-minute sheet mask.
That overseas popularity can make it tempting to assume Biodance is another K-beauty product that is much bigger internationally than it is in Korea.
The Korean retail picture is more complicated.
Biodance Real Deep Mask listings were also present in Olive Young Korea’s mask ranking during the September 2026 snapshot.
So the useful conclusion is not:
“Biodance is only popular on TikTok.”
Nor is it:
“Biodance is Korea’s favorite sheet mask.”
It is this:
Biodance has real Korean retail visibility, but it represents a different mask format from the classic serum-soaked sheet mask.
Sheet mask vs. hydrogel mask
A conventional sheet mask usually consists of a fabric or similar sheet saturated with essence.
The Biodance Real Deep Mask belongs to the longer-wear hydrogel-style category.
That difference changes the shopping decision.
You are essentially choosing between:
a quick, inexpensive skincare step
and
a longer mask treatment where the wear time and gel format are part of the experience.
That is why I would not use ranking position alone to declare Biodance or Mediheal “better.”
They are different products sharing the same broad Korean retail category.
Picked in Korea verdict
Best if you specifically want the long-wear Korean hydrogel-mask trend rather than a traditional sheet mask.
3. Mediheal Hyper Gel Mask
Best for: A newer gel-mask format from an established Korean mask brand
Mediheal’s position in the current category becomes more interesting when you look beyond its Essential Mask.
The brand’s Hyper Gel Mask also appeared high in the September 2026 Olive Young mask-pack ranking.
The line includes versions positioned around ingredients such as collagen, PDRN, madecassoside and hyaluronic acid.
That gives us a useful picture of where Korean masks are heading.
Traditional sheet masks have not disappeared.
Instead, established Korean mask brands are expanding into the longer-wear gel formats that have become increasingly visible internationally.
So the choice is no longer simply:
Mediheal = old-school sheet mask
Biodance = new hydrogel mask
Mediheal now participates in both sides of that market.
One caution is worth adding around PDRN.
A topical PDRN cosmetic should not be treated as equivalent to injectable PDRN or PN treatments used in Korean aesthetic clinics. The ingredient name may overlap, but the product category and method of delivery are completely different.
Picked in Korea verdict
The most interesting option if you want a newer gel-mask format from a brand with a long-established position in Korea’s mask category.
4. Torriden Dive-In Mask
Best for: Straightforward hydration
Torriden is another useful name because it appears in both Korean skincare rankings and international K-beauty conversations.
Its Dive-In line is centered on hydration, and the Dive-In Low Molecular Hyaluronic Acid Mask also appeared in Olive Young Korea’s mask-pack ranking during the September snapshot.
Unlike Biodance, this is closer to what most shoppers mean when they say sheet mask.
So if your goal is not collagen, PDRN or a multi-hour masking experience — you simply want a hydration-focused Korean sheet mask — Torriden is one of the more straightforward options.
It is also a useful reminder that the “best Korean sheet mask” does not have to mean the product with the most dramatic marketing story.
Sometimes the question is simply what you want the mask to do.
Picked in Korea verdict
Best straightforward hydration pick among the conventional sheet masks in the Korean ranking.
5. Abib Sheet Masks
Best for: Another established Korean-market option
Abib is worth knowing if your view of K-beauty is mostly shaped by English-language social media.
Its sheet masks also appeared in Olive Young Korea’s mask-pack ranking during the September snapshot, including Heartleaf-focused products.
That makes Abib useful for a different reason.
It is not some hidden product that “only Koreans know.”
But it is an example of a Korean-market option that can receive less international attention once K-beauty recommendations are filtered through TikTok, Amazon and English-language bestseller lists.
Picked in Korea verdict
Worth considering if you want a conventional Korean sheet mask but do not want to default automatically to the most internationally viral product.
What About Toner Pads?
This is where Korean retail terminology can become confusing.
Open Olive Young’s 마스크팩 (mask pack) ranking and you will also find toner pads.
Mediheal, Skinfood, Abib, Torriden and other brands’ pads can appear alongside sheet masks and hydrogel masks.
That does not mean Koreans consider toner pads and sheet masks identical.
It means Olive Young groups multiple mask and pad formats inside a broader retail category.
If you specifically want toner pads, I would not use the overall mask-pack ranking to choose one.
I compared them separately in Best Korean Toner Pads? What Korea’s Rankings Actually Show.
There is also a useful Korean distinction:
닦토 (ddak-to) means using toner or a toner pad by wiping it across the skin.
팩토 (pak-to) means leaving toner pads on parts of the face temporarily, more like small sheet masks.
Same product category, different use.
Why I Would Not Call Any Product “Korea’s No. 1 Sheet Mask”
This is important.
Olive Young’s live rankings measure retail sales, but the listing itself matters.
A product might be:
- discounted
- sold as 1+1
- bundled with extra masks
- packaged with a refill
- part of an Olive Young promotion
- sold with limited-edition merchandise
That can affect sales.
The Mediheal Essential Mask listing checked for this article, for example, was a promotional multi-pack rather than one individual mask competing under identical conditions with every other product.
So when you see:
“No. 1 at Olive Young”
the safest interpretation is:
this listing is selling strongly in the retailer’s ranking under the current conditions.
It does not prove that a controlled national survey found it to be every Korean consumer’s favorite mask.
That is the same reason I do not simply copy Olive Young’s ranking into recommendation lists.
For a deeper explanation, see what Olive Young bestseller rankings actually measure.
Are Koreans Still Using Sheet Masks in 2026?
Yes — but the category is broader than it used to be.
The current Korean mask market contains several formats at once.
There is the classic inexpensive sheet mask, represented by products such as Mediheal Essential Mask.
There are hydration- and soothing-focused sheet masks, including products from Torriden and Abib.
There are toner pads, which can sometimes be used as small localized masks.
And there is the newer generation of hydrogel and gel masks, represented by products from Biodance, Mediheal and others.
So saying “Koreans use sheet masks” is true but incomplete.
A better description of the Korean market in 2026 is:
the traditional sheet mask did not disappear when newer mask formats became popular. The category expanded around it.
Do Koreans Use a Sheet Mask Every Day?
Not as a rule.
The phrase 1일 1팩 (il-il il-paek) — literally “one mask a day” — is recognizable in Korean beauty culture.
But that does not make daily sheet masking a requirement of Korean skincare.
A sheet mask is an optional skincare product.
If your cleanser, treatment products and moisturizer already give your skin what it needs, you do not need to add a mask simply to make the routine more “Korean.”
This connects to a much bigger K-beauty misconception.
There is no universal 10-step routine that every Korean follows.
I looked at that separately in What a Korean Skincare Routine Actually Looks Like in 2026.
The same principle applies to masks:
the product should have a reason to be in your routine. The number of steps is not the goal.
Which Korean Sheet Mask Should You Buy?
If I were choosing from the Korean market rather than simply following international hype, I would narrow it down like this:
| If you want… | I would start with… |
|---|---|
| A classic Korean sheet mask | Mediheal Essential Mask |
| A long-wear hydrogel mask | Biodance Real Deep Mask |
| A newer gel-mask alternative | Mediheal Hyper Gel Mask |
| Straightforward hydration | Torriden Dive-In Mask |
| Another conventional Korean-market option | Abib Sheet Mask |
These are not five products you need to buy.
They represent different reasons for using a mask.
Choose the format and purpose you actually want rather than chasing whichever listing happens to be No. 1 that day.
Are Korean Sheet Masks Better Than Other Sheet Masks?
Not automatically.
“Korean” describes where the product or beauty category comes from; it is not a guarantee that every Korean mask is better formulated than every mask made elsewhere.
What Korea does offer is an unusually large mask market with many formats, price points and ingredient concepts.
That competition gives shoppers a lot of choice.
But the same rules still apply:
Look at your skin needs, the complete product, how often you plan to use it and whether the format makes sense for your routine.
A Korean ranking is useful evidence.
It is not a substitute for those decisions.
Are Hydrogel Masks Better Than Regular Sheet Masks?
Not necessarily.
They provide a different experience.
A traditional sheet mask can be inexpensive, quick and heavily saturated with essence.
A hydrogel mask usually costs more and is often designed for longer wear.
That can make hydrogel feel more like a treatment, but a longer wear time or higher price does not automatically mean better results for every person.
Choose based on what you want from the product rather than assuming the newer format must be superior.
The Bottom Line
So, what are the best Korean sheet masks in 2026?
If “best” means the strongest combination of Korean retail visibility, accessibility and long-term presence, Mediheal Essential Mask is the clearest place to start for a traditional sheet mask.
Biodance tells a different story.
Its Real Deep Mask shows that one of the biggest internationally visible Korean mask trends also has a real presence in Korea.
And Mediheal’s newer gel masks show that established Korean brands are moving into that format too.
The most interesting part of the Korean ranking, then, is not which mask happens to occupy one exact position today.
It is what the category looks like as a whole.
Cheap conventional sheet masks are still there.
Hydrogel masks are there.
Toner pads are there.
Newer gel formats are there.
Korean sheet masks did not disappear when K-beauty moved on to its next viral format. They became one part of a much bigger mask category.
